Latitude and longitude coordinate converter

Workflow

Default from WGS-84 to Web Mercator, with GCJ-02, BD-09, and custom Proj4 support.

Coordinates, parameters, and results stay in this browser and are not uploaded to Your Free Tools or third-party services.

Latitude and longitude coordinate converter

Convert WGS84, GCJ-02, BD-09, Web Mercator, and custom Proj4 coordinates locally in your browser. WGS84 is the common GPS and standard longitude/latitude system; GCJ-02 is the offset coordinate system used by mainland China internet maps; BD-09 is the Baidu Maps coordinate system; Web Mercator is the web tile map projection; custom Proj4 is for project or engineering coordinate definitions. The default conversion is WGS-84 to Web Mercator. Coordinates, parameters, and results stay in this browser and are not uploaded to Your Free Tools or third-party services.

Use cases

  • - Convert WGS84 GPS longitude/latitude points to Web Mercator web-map projection coordinates.
  • - Compare offsets between GCJ-02, BD-09, and Web Mercator.
  • - Use custom Proj4 parameters for project or projected coordinates.

How to use

  1. 1Enter one source coordinate per line. Decimal degrees, longitude/latitude labels, DMS, and compact forms such as E1162349.66 N395459.50 are recognized automatically.
  2. 2Choose the source and target coordinate systems. The default source is WGS-84 and the default target is Web Mercator. For custom systems, enter the trusted Proj4 parameters.
  3. 3Convert the coordinates, review the target coordinates on the right, then copy the text or download the JSON details.

FAQ

Which coordinate systems are supported?

Supported systems include WGS84, GCJ-02, BD-09, Web Mercator, and trusted custom Proj4 parameters. WGS84 is common GPS longitude/latitude; GCJ-02 is the offset coordinate system used by mainland China internet maps; BD-09 is the Baidu Maps coordinate system; Web Mercator is the web tile map projection; custom Proj4 is for project or engineering coordinate definitions.

Can I convert coordinates in batches?

Yes. Enter one source coordinate per line. Decimal degrees, longitude/latitude labels, DMS, and compact E/N or N/E formats are supported.

When should I use custom Proj4 parameters?

Use custom Proj4 parameters for project, engineering, or local coordinate systems when trusted project documentation provides the parameters.

Are coordinates uploaded to a server?

No. Coordinate input, custom parameters, and results are processed only in the current browser.
